Bagless Vacuum

July 1st, 2008 No Comments   Posted in Appliances

Bagless vacuums have really come a long way from when they first started out. At first, they were little more than a gimmick. A bagless vacuum was sold on the promise of allowing people the convenience of not having to dispose of a bag, but many of them were messy and ineffective. Not all of them contained the dirt very well, and often some of it would be circulated in the air. It was also kind of difficult to dispose of the dust without spilling some, creating the need for another vacuuming. Nowadays, the bagless vacuum is much better than ever before. The design, as far as I can tell, has Click to Read More

Sooner or later, office lighting is always an issue in a workspace. From the floor lamp at your home office to the fluorescent lighting in your place of work, having the right light fixtures can make a huge difference in your productivity and comfort. For my part, I have spent a lot of time looking for the perfect desk lamp in the past. I used to have a simple executive desk lamp, and I liked the light that provided, but it was a little bit old and battered. When I decided to replace it, I wanted to make a change. I figure that it was an excellent time to redecorate my home office, so I Click to Read More

Wide Screen Television

You know the day is drawing near. It was bound to come sooner or later. I’m referring to that spectacular moment when we’re all forced to convert to the wide screen television. Now some older folks may cling to the past and demand to keep their traditional “full screen” TV until the end of days, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend it. Especially since feature films are widescreen and always have been. Take a look at that screen the next time you stroll into a movie theater auditorium. It’s wide! So naturally it makes sense to have the same wonderful Click to Read More

Electric Fan

Everyone I know has air conditioning in their homes. We live where we get all four seasons, but the summer can be unbearably hot. Air conditioning is a wonderful thing, and I do have a unit I can use in my bedroom. However, I refuse to use it most of the time and I opt for the electric fan. Though the fan is cheaper than the air conditioning, that is not the main reason why I feel this way. There are some benefits to using an electric fan that I can’t seem to give up very easily. I always put the electric fan in my window at night when I go to sleep. I don’t do that in the Click to Read More

Nothing can put a wrench in your plans like running out of hot water. We have all experienced the discomfort of losing this must-have in showers and kitchens at one time or another. Imagine never having to worry about running out again. A natural gas tankless water heater is the best option for those who want to forgot the cold. Recessed Lights

December 8th, 2007 No Comments   Posted in Appliances

For a long time, I didn’t understand why anybody would pay more money to have recessed lights in their home. I guess at that point I wasn’t picky, and was happy as long as I had a lamp in the corner that I could use in place of the overhead light. I knew that overhead lights caused too much glare, so I used a lamp almost exclusively. Once they moved into an apartment that had recessed lights, I finally understood why people like them so much. The recessed lights in my apartment do the job of an overhead light without so much glare. They also looked much better as far as Click to Read More

My husband and I,  are very involved in our church community. He is a member of the parish council, and I am on the parish life committee. This committee sponsors and coordinates all the events in the parish that are not part of the weekly liturgy. Our main focus is to improve our parish community by sponsoring social as well as educational events. Because most of our events involve some type of refreshments, we were assigned the task of finding the best coffee makers to have in the kitchen area of the parish center, as well as the small conference room kitchen. The majority of our events Click to Read More

When winter hits, there is one area that we often wish was warmer than it is. That’s the garage, and if you have a detached version that houses your vehicles, you may want to consider looking at garage heaters. These can not only make the air in the building warmer and more comfortable but it can actually help when it comes to warming up the car or truck in the morning. A furnace is typically what most of us think of when we think of heating our home or garage. For homes that have an attached garage, this is typically the route they’ll go.
