When it was time to graduate from college, my classmates and I, had a class that helped us put together our resume and to learn how to interview and plan for the future of our careers.
What I learned was helpful, but I do wish I had learned more. It might seem easy enough to go on an interview and land a job, but there is more to it than that. Most jobs that require professional training have an average salary. This is information that is important to know, but this was not something that we learned.
When you start out, you may think the average salary for a starting position would be Click to Read More

Most of us have some level of anxiety walking into an interview; it can be extremely overwhelming and difficult to concentrate. When you interview for a job, you want to put your best foot forward and demonstrate that you are the right person for the job.
By familiarizing yourself with how to answer job interview questions ahead of time, your chances of securing the job increase significantly.
Interviewers are adept at asking job interview questions and your success depends primarily on how you answer these pertinent questions. Some may appear overly direct, but the intention is always the Click to Read More

Many people take their vehicle back and forth to work each day. A percentage of those individuals have to take it a step further and drive their cars and trucks as part of their jobs.
If your employer doesn’t supply a vehicle for you and you have to drive your own to sales calls, meetings or seminars, you are allowed to claim a mileage allowance. Although this may seem like not much, it’s incredibly helpful considering the price of gasoline these days.
Every employer has a different approach when it comes to deciding who qualifies for this benefit. All employees who want to Click to Read More

The co-workers are passive-aggressive back stabbers. The job politics are undermining and hypocritical. The commute is two hours each way. The taxes are absurdly devastating to the net paycheck. And the space for professional, personal, and/or interpersonal development is severely limited.
So you decide there must be a better alternative to working for (and with) someone else. You decide to work as a freelancer.
The first thing you have to do, is access some useful work at home tips, researching even before brainstorming a plan.
In those work at home tips, you’ll likely find some Click to Read More

Do you really know what goes on within your human resource department? I mean sure they hired you and discussed the financial terms with you, but what exactly are the human resource functions they perform?
Well, in all honesty, it is a tad difficult to answer this question fully. Or to the satisfaction of all the parties concerned. Even in the best of times, human resource functions are not easy to define. And in the current scenario when job durations, security, scope and even geography keep morphing by the hour, it becomes well nigh impossible to define human resource functions.
But we Click to Read More

With all of the job placement agencies out there, it really surprises me how little information on jobs people have. It seems like people either assume they will like a certain field without any information on it, or fall into whatever career they get.
When I was going through college, almost none of my friends took career placement tests, or even talked to a career advisor. Some of them were going into their parents line of business, continuing a family tradition. Other ones were the first generation to go to college and wanted to make as much money as possible, worshiping success and the Click to Read More
