Ponds Skin Care
Ponds skin care products have been around for a very long time. My grandmother used this brand and continues to use this line today. Considering that my grandmother looks a couple decades younger than she truly is, I decided to adopt the habit of using Ponds skin care products as well. While I was already quite aware of the well-known product when I was a child, I never used Ponds skin care. This was a line of beauty supplies that was designed for older people, or so I thought. I was actually introduced to using the Ponds skin care supplies when I was working in the theater. The play I was Click to Read More

Bamboo Floors
Although I have been growing bamboo plants for years, I never imagined that you could do anything useful with them. I guess I was pretty ignorant of it. They had seemed to be simple, decorative plants. Don’t get me wrong ; there are a few tricks that they are good for. You could, for example, use them for your vines to grow up once you pick them, twist them into novel shapes, and give them as presents. That was about all the bamboo plant was good for my opinion. I certainly didn’t know about bamboo floors. I stumbled onto bamboo hardwood floors while I was restoring my house. Click to Read More

Plant Nursery
Working in a plant nursery for years, I have seen firsthand the advantages of growing your own plants. Although artificial plants have come a long way, they just don’t compare to the real thing. People in plant nurseries know. The effects are subtle at first. You start working there and without warning, you aren’t so exhausted after work. You have a smile on your face more. You might have worse allergies, but you also have a better outlook. Just working in plant nurseries does wonders, and tending to your own plants is even more. After all, when plants are your own, you get to Click to Read More

Increase IQ and Intelligence
IQ and intelligence increasing is one of those topics where most people think they don’t have a choice. People say intelligence is genetic, that you can’t increase it, that it’s all to do with education etc etc. But i say this to you now: Society is full of lies. And these lies which people say have limited the true potential and GENIUS that lies within us. Just think for a moment, the geek in high school with the straight A’s and the medicine degree, what did he do to deserve his intelligence? And think similarly too about the poor guy who worked and worked hard, Click to Read More
Advance Directive Form
There are times when people allow themselves to be intimidated by different systems that they become involved in during their lives. One intimidating system in the health care system and the other is the legal system. The sad thing about this is when people allow their fears get in the way of being served well. So often people feel that doctors and lawyers know everything in their field and they do not make mistakes. This is ridiculous. Everyone makes mistakes and they should be called on them when it happens. This does not mean you need to turn to a law suit, but you can request a second Click to Read More

Church History
Although I am not what you might call a believer, I have always found church history to be pretty fascinating. I first studied the history of the Church not out of intellectual curiosity, but out of spiritual need. You see, I was having trouble with the religion that I was brought up in. My parents were extremely religious people, but I felt that the religion was hypocritical. They preached the love of God, and yet they believed that all sinners would go to hell. They talked about the forgiveness of God, but they thought that he actually had it in his heart to torture people indefinitely Click to Read More

NY Times Newspaper
Today, print media has a lot of competition, from dozens of news channels and the web. A new blog appears every day and it seems everyone wants to be a citizen journalist. It’s good to know then, that a newspaper steeped in tradition is still thriving and that is true of the NY Times newspaper. The daily broadsheet, including a Sunday edition, has been giving New Yorkers the news since 1851, ten years before the start of the Civil War. It’s circulated throughout the world and is the biggest metropolitan newspaper in America. The Gothic lettering in the title proclaims a certain Click to Read More

Anger Management
Anger management We’ve all had those moments in which we feel completely out of control with frustration. Perhaps you’ve thrown something across the room, screamed at someone uncontrollably or put your fist through a wall. Those adrenaline filled moments seem unstoppable and uncontrollable. Most people react out of emotion and not rationality. Unfortunately, the majority of people will lash out without thinking and then realize what they should have done after the fact and the damage isn’t exactly easy to take back. We hurt the feelings of others during those stressful Click to Read More

Chair Cushions
Through the years my husband and I have moved four times. When we were first married we lived in a duplex in a small suburb of the city we worked in. This duplex was the upper level of an older home. We did not have much money when we were first married. We each had lived on our own for a few years after college. We had always shared apartments with friends. When we moved in together we had bedroom furniture and living room furniture, but no table and chairs. There was a counter in the kitchen so we decided that we would use bar stools at the counter to eat our meals. We were given a card Click to Read More

Pocket Compass
I got my first pocket compass out of a quarter vending machine when I was about eight years old. It was a pocket watch style compass, and although it was made out of plastic, it looked a lot better than it actually was. It had some neat designs on it, a folding top, and a picture of an imaginary map. It was the perfect thing to impress an eight-year-old. It did not, however, work in the slightest. All it would tell you was the location of the nearest piece of metal. The North Pole never even entered into it. Nonetheless, that pocket compass was the source of endless fascination. None of my Click to Read More
